Meewasin and Affinity Credit Union Clean-Up Campaign Kick-off!
April 15, 2010
The Kick-off for the Meewasin-Affinity Credit Union Clean-up will take Thursday, April 22, 2010; 9:45 a.m. in the St. Edward School gymnasium (1002 Avenue P. North). The 30 minute program will feature greetings from Meewasin, the Affinity Credit Union, and St. Edward School. As a commitment to conservation, participants will engage in a ceremonial signing of the Meewasin-Affinity Credit Union garbage bag. The media event kicks off a two week clean-up of the river valley, city parks and neighborhoods by schools, community groups and individuals who last year represented over 22,000 volunteers throughout the City of Saskatoon.
The media and public are invited to this kick-off. To volunteer for the clean-up campaign individuals, families, schools and community groups can register on-line Click Here or by calling Meewasin at 665-6888. Meewasin will provide the garbage bags and refreshment coupons for volunteers participating throughout the clean-up weeks. Individuals and groups may register to clean specific areas of the valley.
