MEEWASIN
Public Notice
On Friday, December 2, 2011, the Meewasin Valley Authority will consider the following:
- Proposal by the City of Saskatoon to construct the Art Gallery of Saskatchewan at River Landing Dwg - Dwg Package, Site Location Map, Site Plan, Parking Layout, Solar Study Sheet and Plant Palette
- Proposal to amend the Meewasin Development Plan - South Downtown District Development Policy by special resolution as follows.
- Amend the regulations regarding office space (currently limited to 30% of gross floor area per site up to 100,000 square feet) to allow 40% of gross floor area per site up to 250,000 square feet.
- Amend the maximum building height and floor space ration (FSR) on Parcel YY (bounded by 19th Street, 2nd Avenue, 3rd Avenue and Spadina Crescent) from 68 metres and 4:1 FSR to 95 metres and 6:1 FSR.
- Amend the regulations regarding building setbacks to allow the setback requirement to be reduced or eliminated where appropriate based on meeting design criteria with respect to scale, sunlight penetration, wind protection, and enhanced public space. Proposed Amendments
The public is welcome to make representation, limited to 5 minutes. Notice of intent to make representation should be given by noon on December 1, 2011. Written submissions will also be accepted.

- Approval of the Chief Whitecap Park Master Plan. It involves improvements to natural habitat, on leash and off leash pedestrian trails and areas, parking, signage and interpretation. - Meewasin approved construction of a storm sewer outfall on the east riverbank in association with the Circle Drive South project. Meewasin will continue to work with the applicant to ensure the design does not risk the stability of the slope. Drawing Files
- Meewasin approved a minor amendment to the South Downtown District development Policy such that all building elevation adjacent to a public street must provide a setback between the fourth and sixth storey which is appropriate to the scale of the building and the nature of the adjacent street and which provides appropriate sunlight penetration and wind protection.
