Public Notice
At its noon meeting on Friday, March 5, 2010 the Meewasin Valley Authority will consider the following:
- Proposal from the University of Saskatchewan to construct the final phase of the expansion project at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine including renovations to teh Diagnostics Lab and site landscaping. View 1, Veiw 2
The public is welcome to make representation, limited to 5 minutes. Please provide notice of interest to make representation by 10:00am, Friday, March 5, 2010. Written submissions will also be accepted.

November 2009 Approved Projects
- Approval for Ehrenberg Homes Ltd. has applied to construct a nine-unit condominium on Lot 6, 7 & 8, Block B, Plan Q25 (316 Saskatchewan Crescent) adjacent to Rotary Park. This project was reviewed and provided a conditional approval in December 2005. that approval, is subject to submission of a storm-water plan for the site.
- Meewasin received a proposal to expand and renovate the Queen's Bench Courthouse at 520 Spadina Crescent East. This location is within the Meewasin Buffer Zone and therefore requires applicants provide Meewasin a 45-day notification and opportunity for comment.

October 2009 Approved Projects
- Approval for the University of Saskatchewan to construct a new addition to the Central Heating Plant and replace the boiler feedwater treatment system. The heating plant addition would occur at the intersectio of Cmpus Drive and North Road. The approval is subject to submission of a new landscape plan to soften the visual impact of the building. - Approval for the University of Sasktchewan to construct a new five-storey 400-bed student residence on the "College Quater" east of the RJD Williams and north of the existing student residence towers at McEown Park. This development is phase I of a two-phase project. To accommodate the development, an extension to Aird Street will also be constructed. The approval is subject to submission of a landscape plan. September 2009 Approved Projects
- Approval for the City of Saskatoon to continue efforts to protect groundwater through the construction of interceptor (recovery) wells installed along the south side of the Saskatoon Waste Management Centre (Spadina Landfill). Portions of the landfill are unlined and therefore a leachate collection system has been designed to collect leachate from the south-bound plumes. In 2002 an interceptor trench was constructed along the north side of the landfill. Plans: Construction Details
- Approval for the City of Saskatoon to construct a Grit Handling Facility at the Spadina Landfill. The facility will dewater heavy grit loads from vacuum and hydrovac excavating trucks and use the dewatered solids as cover material. The effluent will be piped into the sanitary sewer system for treatment. The approval is subject to finalization of the building design and completion of a landscape plan that softens the visual impact of the facility on the river valley setting. Plans: Plan
- Approval for Meewasin to extend the Meewasin Trail through the Psychiatric Centre prairie. Meewasin is extending the trail from Sutherland Beach along the riverbank, to Central Avenue to formalize the intentional footpath and support recovery of numerous information braided trails on the remnant prairie surrounding the Regional Psychiatric Centre. The project has received funding from the National Trails Council. Plans: Trail Layout
- Approval for the City of Saskatoon to construct the Rotary Park Lift Station adjacent to the Sid Buckwold Bridge abutment. This new sewage lift station is within Rotary Park on the east side of the south abutment and includes a new 600mm forcemain river crossing underneath the Sid Buckwold Bridge. The project is approved subject to completion of a landscape plan sensitive to the program of the surrounding park and visibility from River Landing. Plans (To be added)

August 2009 Approved Projects
- Approval for the City of Saskatoon to construct a storm water pond and associated storm water sewer and outfall to service the northwest portion of the Evergreen residential neighbourhood. The project includes both wet and dry ponds to be located within the Northeast Swale, specifically in that portion west of Central Avenue between Agra Road and Fedoruk Drive (portion NW 12-37-05 and NE 12-37-05). - Approval for the City of Saskatoon to remediate a landslide on the east riverbank adjacent to Saskatchewan Crescent between the University Bridge and Eighteenth Street.
- Approval for Saskatoon Light & Power to stablize the riverbank adjacent to transmission tower site 10 (adjacent to St. Henry Avenue and above Gabriel Dumont Park.

February 2009 Approved Projects
- The application by the University of Saskatchewan to construct a four-storey addition to the existing Place Riel building. The addition will be nestled between Marquis Hall and the Murray Building north of the existing Place Riel. The project also includes the completion of renovations to the lower floor of the existing Place Riel and improved interior connections to the existing Marquis Hall building. October 2008 Approved Projects
- The application City of Saskatoon to develop a new neighbourhood in Saskatoon called Evergreen. The development includes servicing, roadway construction, and lot and parcel development to accommodate a variety of residential densities, neighbourhood convenience commercial, a District Village, and a variety of parks. - The application of the City of Saskatoon to add a second inbound lane to the access road of the Saskatoon Waste Management Centre (Spadina Landfill). The project proposes to use a unique Green Road approach, utilizing recycled materials for its construction. The new access road will allow approved commercial vehicles to bypass the residential customer stream, shortening wait times for each. Site layout

September 2008 Approved Projects
- The application by Lake Placid River Landing Inc. to construct a mixed use development comprised of four buildings connected through public amenities and architectural features;
- The application of the City of Saskatoon to construct a section of trail to connect to the existing Meewasin Trail to the north and south crosswalks for the intersection of Spadina Crescent and 33rd Street;
- The restoration and construction of a section of trail (with seating nodes and interpretive panels) on a recently-acquired property currently known as the Episcopal Property;
- The application by the University of Saskatchewan and Darrel Epp Architects to construct a two-car garage at the University of Saskatchewan President's Residence, replacing an existing single car garage.

August 2008 Approved Projects
- Proposal by Saskatoon Light and Power to install an 80-meter wind measurement tower and the future erection of a wind turbine within Diefenbaker Park. The construction and operation of the large wind turbine is pending further feasibility assessment.
- Proposal by the Intervalley Water Inc. to install a low pressure water pipeline north of Saskatoon within the Rural Municipality of Corman Park. The pipeline will serve 341 subscribers. The installation will largely follow road allowances and be installed at a depth of 2.7 meters (8.86 feet). Where the pipeline encounters water bodies, it shall be directionally drilled to a depth of 2.7 meters below the creek bottom. The pipeline shall connect to the existing SaskWater regional supply line in three places.

- Proposal by the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo to construct a new education centre consisting of classrooms, a discovery centre, and service spaces at the Park.
- Proposal by the University of Saskatchewan to construct an addition to the Crop Science Field Lab at 2101 – 108th Street East. View new addition location
- Proposal by the City of Saskatoon to extend approval for the temporary boat launch located on the lower terrace of Kiwanis Memorial Park for two years while a comprehensive location analysis for a permanent boat launch is underway. View boat launch

May 2008 Approved Projects
- City of Saskatoon Utility Services Department to construct a new raw water intake and supply facilities on SE 1/4 18-36-5 W3. The project is expected to proceed with three components: construciton of the water intake within the river channel and pump station on a deflection spur; installation of twinned pipelines across the river bed and connected with an existing pipeline on the west side of the South Saskatchewan River; and construction of supportoting infrastructure consisting of an access road, power substation, natural gas line, etc.
